Take Good Method to Protect Important Data on Your Computer
A
serious loss of data is the worst time to figure out how it could happen. To
protect critical business processes, managers should think about all preventing
the disasters that can befall their data. Personal users also should learn a
little about how to prevent loss of data to prevent files from being lost.
Something
We Need to Pay Attention
First
of all, the computing environment should be clean, dry, secure, dust-free and
arranged in such a way that equipment cannot be jolted or damaged. Larger
companies and institutions should have uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) to
save data during power outages while smaller organizations can use power surge
protectors.
Most
businesses keep their backed-up data off premises in a safe location to prevent
loss of data, but all too often they ignore the simple step of verifying that
the right data is going on to good tapes. It's not enough to see data on the
tape - what if it's older data that isn't being overwritten by new information?
Viruses
are becoming a more important threat to data and they can arrive from
unexpected sources. Any and all data coming into the network must be scanned,
and the system should be scanned regularly. The scanning software itself should
be updated at least four times a year.
Any
storage device that has been visibly damaged or exposed to heat, moisture or
soot should not be used. Drives that sound "funny" should be shut
down immediately to prevent complete destruction of data.
How
to Protect Your Data on Your Computer
Always
back up and protect
The
best protection is prevention. Invest in redundant backup system. Establish a
structured backup procedure to make copies of all critical data files, using
software compatible with the operating system and applications. Periodically
test the backups to verify that data, especially databases and other critical
files, are being backed up properly. Keep at least one verified copy of
critical data offsite.
Never
assume that your computer is protected from incoming viruses because you have
protection software, be sure to scan all incoming data for corruption. By
enabling your computer with backup software and virus protection, you will
drastically decrease the chances of losing important files.
Data
missing? Don’t panic!
Sometimes
the simplest of answers can be the ultimate solution. Before you panic, double
check to ensure you haven’t misplaced your file. Use the 'search' box located
in 'Start' button on the bottom tool bar of your computer. If your file doesn't
appear using the search function, double check the recycle bin or trash on your
computer's desktop.
Leave
it to the professionals
When
it comes to your losing your data, it’s time to throw that do-it-yourself
attitude out the window. Do not attempt recover your data personally by using
any type of diagnostic or repair tools. Doing so may cause further damage or
permanent data loss. Remember, the first recovery attempt is the most
successful. Play it safe and send hardware to a professional.
Or
if hardware is no problem, you can try some powerful apps which helps in recovering
lost data. More details you can check our blog: http://www.uflysoft.net/blog/
